- Sony launches Bluetooth -enabled S-Frame brand of digital photo frames
Sony today unveiled its S-Frame brand of digital photo frames, offering vibrant LCD screens and stylish designs suitable for the living room, bedroom or office. The new Sony DPF-V900, DPF-V700 and DPF-D70 digital photo frame models have WVGA resolution (800 x 480 pixels) along with 15:9 aspect-ratio screens to showcase your digital pictures with detail and clarity. All three S-Frame models support JPEG and RAW (SRF, SR2, ARW) image file formats. The DPF-V900 and DPF-V700 frames also support TIFF and BMP file formats. These two models also feature Sony’s Bionz processor with face detection technology. The DPF-V900 and DPF-V700 digital photo frames are Bluetooth -enabled. Both frames also connect to Sony BRAVIA and other compatible HDTV sets to display your photos in high definition via an HDMI cable.
The three new frames offer convenient features such as 10 slide show variations, clock and calendar views, and two index modes so you can preview several photos at once. - Sony GPS-CS1KASP GPS Tracker Device
Sony GPS-CS1KA GPS tracker allowed you to keep track of your digital photos including when and where they were taken. This tracker has now been updated, and is called the Sony GPS-CS1KASP device. The device traces GPS co-ordinates of video footage on an online map, while retaining the ability to tag photos with location info. The location recording takes place every 15 seconds, hence you can trace your video and quickly locate where a photo was taken. Updated software then pairs the GPS readings of your video/still photos onto an online map, using Google maps.

- Toyota Develops world's first Anti-mite Allergen car Seat Fabric and in-car oxygen-level conditioner
Toyota has developed the world's first car seat fabric that helps prevent mite allergens from becoming active in a vehicle's cabin. The new fabric is to be offered in vehicle models scheduled for launch in Japan in the near future. The new seat fabric developed by TMC contains an anti-allergen agent that envelops approximately 98% of the mite allergens that settle on a seat's treated surfaces. The long-lasting agent does not affect the color or texture of the seat fabric. Other initiatives for improving vehicle-cabin comfort include the introduction of Fraichir seats (featuring fibers coated with sericin, a protein extracted from natural silk that reduces skin irritation), an automatic air conditioner with both a fast-acting pollen-reduction mode and world's first in-car oxygen-level conditioner for maintaining a suitable level of oxygen inside the vehicle cabin.

Nara Institute of Science and Technology in western Japan has implanted a tiny camera in a mouse's brain for memory study. In order to see how memory is formed, scientists at Nara Institute of Science and Technology have implanted a small semiconductor camera inside the hippocampus of a mouse's brain. In future scientists hope to apply to humans to treat illnesses. The camera is 3 mm (0.1 inch) long, 2.3 mm wide and 2.4 mm in depth. The researchers injected the mouse with a substance that lights up whenever there is brain activity. The camera then captures that light and the visuals come up on a screen.

- KDDI unveiles10 new au-branded mobile phones for spring

The lineup includes a handset with an OLED display that is tailored for 1seg broadcasts, a model with e-paper for the first time in Japan and a model featuring a wireless music player function based on Bluetooth. Two of the new models are equipped with an OLED panel as the main display. One of them is the W61SA manufactured by Sanyo. This model has a 240×400 (wide QVGA) 3-inch OLED display, which will be the largest in Japan. Sanyo W61SA handset incorporates a touch sensor that enables users to control the volume of 1seg broadcasting and change the channel with the phone closed. The model supports Bluetooth and has an FM transmitter to transmit music content and so on to the audio componenent system, car stereo, etc connected with the phone.

Toshiba Corp's W61T is another OLED model. It has a 2.8-inch OLED display featuring the 240× 400 (wide QVGA) resolution like the W61SA. It requires an external antenna to watch 1seg broadcasts because it does not have a built-in antenna for 1seg reception. It supports Bluetooth and is equipped with a 3.24-Mpixel CMOS camera.
