MSI presents World's First Powerless Air Cooler on a Main board
MSI_Powerless Air Cooler.jpg MSI will present a live demo of World's First Powerless Air Cooler on a Main board on the MSI booth in CeBIT Hall 21 B34.Here visitors will be able to see the electricity-less fan which is powered only by the movement of heat and air, the fan speed will change relative to the chipset temperature. The prototype "Air Power Cooler" is MSI’s first attempt to investigate how the Eco concept can work in tandem with the evolution of the main board "ECOlution”. MSI_Powerless Air Cooler_A.jpg The "Air Power Cooler" transfers the chipset heat into air momentum, when the air becomes hot, the air will expand then push the fan to rotate and In doing so cooling the heatsink immediately. After the air moves from the bottom to top of the piston, the air will become heavy to push the up piston down. The better air piston design can transfer over 70% heat power and transfer to air power, that's great efficiency transfer from Stirling engine theory.

Panasonic Uses Catalytic Reaction to recover metals from "mixed plastic waste" from old home appliances
Panasonic_recycling.jpg Panasonic has developed together with Kusatsu Electric Co., Ltd. a recycling technology that enables the recovery of metals from plastic-coated wires and plastics used in electric and electronic equipment without causing hazardous side-effects. Using the catalytic properties of titanium oxide (TiO2), the innovative technology facilitates recovery of inorganic substances such as metals by transforming organic substances such as plastics into harmless gases. Panasonic_recycling_A.jpg Panasonic is successfully using the new technology at the Matsushita Eco Technology Center (METEC) to recover copper from degaussing coils covered with vinyl chloride tape found in CRT TVs. In addition, mixed plastic waste destined for incineration or landfill is treated and changed into non-toxic gases at METEC. The method not only contributes to "zero waste," but also helps reduce CO2 emissions as little external energy source is required in the gasification process.

Asus ROG Rampage Formula motherboard with Innovative Pin-Fin Thermal Module Design
Asus_Rampage.jpg heatpipe+logo.jpgCatering to astute users who require the best performance for their games and overclocking alike, the Republic of Gamers, producer of gaming motherboards, has released the new Rampage Formula motherboard. With the innovative Pin-Fin Thermal Module, this cutting-edge motherboard provides quiet, efficient cooling that allows users to enjoy a more stable environment for overclocking. Additionally, the inclusion of the innovative overclocking technology – CPU Level Up, lets users obtain flexible CPU overclocking easily – even without prior overclocking knowledge.

The new Pin-Fin thermal design breaks the "Boundary-layer" phenomenon for effective airflows and results in better overall thermal performance when compared with traditional stacked-fin heatpipe solutions. It also features an enlarged “heat-exchange” surface area – allowing the most efficient heat dissipation to occur, and thus achieve the best thermal cooling.

Sharp world’s first company to reach 2 GW in cumulative solar cell production volume!
sharp_solar.jpg At the end of 2007, Sharp Corporation became the first company to reach 2 GW in cumulative solar cell production volume in the world. Sharp has been involved with solar power for 49 years: the company began research into solar cells in 1959 to develop a new technology to follow the success of the television and started mass-production in 1963. It is estimated that the current world's cumulative solar cell production volume is 8 GW, meaning Sharp has produced a full one-quarter of this. YakuniyaSakiNS.jpg In 1966, a lighthouse on Ogami Island in Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan was equipped with what was then the world's largest solar power system of 225 W for lighthouses. The panels were replaced just once and have been working for the past 25 years.
