- Fujitsu Donates Numerical Wind Tunnel Supercomputer to the Computer History Museum
Fujitsu has donated to the Computer History Museum several components based on technologies developed for the Numerical Wind Tunnel supercomputer, which was ranked No. 1 when it debuted in the Top 500 Supercomputer Sites list in November 1993. The museum will accept the gift at a dedication ceremony on Sept. 12, 2008, at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, Calif.

Teraokaseiko, manufacturer of high quality digital scales, scale printers, weigh-wrap systems etc exhibited a touch panel display which can be operated by touching either side of the display at Sign & Display Show 2008, at Tokyo. In addition to finger movements such as tapping and sliding, the touch panel display recognizes the movement of pinching also. The pixel count of the inorganic EL panel is 256 × 120. It is an orange monochrome display. The light transmittances of the inorganic EL panel and the touch panel attached to it are both 80%. The display has a transmittance of 51.2%.

- Saibao Chinese electric Car scores US-NCAP 4 stars
Chinese electric Car Saibao jointly developed by China's Tianjin Qingyuan Electric Vehicle Company and Hafei Auto Group recently passed Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)'s 40mph frontal offset impact test. This is the first time a Chinese electric vehicle has passed the test. Saibao, scored US-NCAP (United States New Car Assessment Program) 4 stars. Injury measures on all body regions of the test dummy fell well within the safety limits, and the car's high-voltage electric engine as well as all the other key electric assemblies remained untouched after the crash.
