A loud voice shouts Help this laptop is reported lost or stolen
talklap.jpg Front Door Software Corp has launched a Retriever program that combats laptop theft. If a thief fails to enter the correct password, a loud voice shouts, "Help, this laptop is reported lost or stolen," from the speaker. A message saying "Stolen laptop" and contact information of the owner appears onscreen every 30 seconds. Retriever also begins tracking down the location of the laptop while sending out the warning message. As soon as the laptop is turned on, it will automatically connect to the internet by searching for a Wi-Fi network then send its location information to the Front Door Software website. The owner of the stolen laptop can check its location online and report it to the police. The owner can set a password on the website to hide important information stored in the laptop.

LG Unveils solar-powered mobile phone
lg-solar_phone.jpg LG unveiled its eco-friendly mobile phone equipped with a solar panel battery cover at the Mobile World Congress 2009. The phone’s solar power system is embedded onto the battery cover, to conveniently harness the sun’s limitless and pollution-free energy. By simply pointing the phone’s solar panel at natural light, the panel will convert solar energy into electricity without needing to be plugged in. Exposing the panel to the sun for ten minutes will give the phone enough power for a three-minute call, making it the perfect companion for emergency situations when no power is available to charge a dead battery. If left in natural light for long periods, the solar panel creates enough standby power to power the phone without any charging devices.
