Epson Toyocom announces world’s smallest 32.678-kHz Crystal Oscillator: Epson Toyocom has developed the world's smallest 32.768-kHz crystal oscillator. The maximum dimensions of the new crystal oscillator, known as the SG-3050BC, are just 2.2 mm x 1.4 mm x 1.0t mm. With a footprint and cubic volume that are 70% and 75% smaller, respectively, than its predecessor, the new crystal oscillator will help electronic equipment manufacturers further downsize their products while boosting performance. EnswerMe- Google of video search ?: Despite the immense popularity of YouTube and other video-streaming destinations, searching for video on the Internet remains just as a confusing and frustrating experience it was three or four years ago. For example, type in any variation of Euro 2008 on YouTube's search box and the top results are just as likely to include Fernando Torres highlights from the actual tournament as the animated images from EA Sports' new video game. Each Web page has 10 video clips, so you have to go through more than 3,000 pages to check them all, said Jack Kim, the chief executive of Seoul-based Web technology firm, Enswers. Kim claims he has a solution to these problems in Enswers' Web video search engine, EnswerMe (www.enswer.me), which he hopes to develop as the Google of video search. By combining the image recognition technologies with audio analysis, Kim says EnswerMe achieves an accuracy of above 99 percent in matching videos containing the same content.

LCD Digital Infant Baby Nipple Thermometer: Generally, thermometers are very boring in design. At max you get a long, thin cylindrical tube with some design imprinted on it. That's it. Nothing more exciting. But the latest BudgetGadgets thermometer is way different. Unlike traditional thermometers which come in the shape of long, thin cylinder, the Baby Nipple Thermometer comes in the shape of a nipple! The LCD displays the body temperature with ±0.1°C/0.2°F(from 35.5°C to 42.0°C/ from 95.9°F to 107.6°F) accuracy. It takes approximately 4 seconds to take the reading and a beep is heard for confirmation. Dirty thoughts apart, the thermometer's shape would be really useful for infant babies who take nothing except nipples in their mouth. And the weird shape certainly makes sense as young kids don't take typical thermometers in their mouth that easily, but a thermometer in the shape of a nipple will easily find its way in their mouth! Pretty good device to buy if your kid only likes nipples.

High-efficiency Micro Fuel Cell Module with small-sized tubular solid oxide fuel cells developed: Scientists from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology have developed a micro fuel cell module with small-sized tubular solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC), in collaboration with NGK Spark Plug.
