LG to Unveil a portable DVD player and three mobile phone models at CES: LG will introduce a new line-up of mobile DVD players and cell phones with digital TV features at Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next year. Denso to launch fuel efficient and Eco friendly Sparkplug in Japan: Denso will launch a fuel-efficient spark plug in the Japanese market on January 6, 2010. DENSO’s new spark plug improves fuel efficiency by 1.2 percent, torque by 1.1 percent, and decreases carbon dioxide emissions by 0.8 percent in comparison with the company’s conventional nickel spark plug. The new spark plug sold under the product name Twin Tip in North America and Europe (including Russia), uses a tip shape for the ground electrode, in addition to the tip shape of the center electrode for conventional spark plugs. Hummingbird robot can fly in a figure of eight more stable than a helicopter: Japanese researchers have developed a hummingbird robot that can flutter around freely in mid-air with rapid wing movements. The robot, a similar size to a real hummingbird, is equipped with a micro motor and four wings that can flap 30 times per second, said Hiroshi Liu, the researcher at Chiba University east of Tokyo. The robot, which weighs 2.6 grams, can fly in a figure of eight more stable than a helicopter with rotor blades. The hummingbird robot controlled with an infrared sensor and can turn up, down, right or left. Hiroshi Liu plans is to make it hover to stay at one point in mid-air, and equip it with a micro camera by March 2011.

NASA to use same Nikon D3S DSLR Cameras and Lenses available to end-users for space exploration: NASA has placed an order for eleven Nikon D3S digital SLR cameras and seven AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED lenses to be used for photographic documentation. No special modifications will be made to these products. They will be the same products available to end-users, confirming the incredible versatility of the D3S. This equipment will be used along with the Nikon D2XS digital SLR cameras, NIKKOR lenses, and Nikon Speedlights already in use at the International Space Station. The Nikon D3S digital SLR cameras and AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED lenses ordered by NASA will be carried on the Space Shuttle and used to photograph activities at the International Space Station (ISS) in the future.
