Murata robot Seiko-chan can make S-shaped curves on a balance beam

The robot, named Murata Seiko-chan, is 50 centimeters tall, weighs about 6 kilograms and is an improvement over the previous model that could only go in a straight line on the beam. Robot Seiko-chan instantaneously makes calculations to determine the degree to which the body must be turned to navigate the curves.The tire of the unicycle has a width of 1.5 cm. A camera installed within the robot recognizes the curved path of the beam, which is 2.5 cm wide.

NTT DoCoMo to demonstrate e-book trial service at CEATEC JAPAN 2010

During the trial, customers will have the opportunity to experience e-books via DoCoMo smartphones, such as the Android powered Xperia and Galaxy S models.The trial will offer about 50 titles, including electronic books, manga comics, magazines and photo books, some linked with supplementary videos and maps.The e-books will be available at docomo market, a mobile portal created by DoCoMo to provide users with easy access to smartphone apps and content from around the world.
