• Asus PIKE directly upgrade SATA storage to SAS storage

  • asus_pike.jpg
asus_pike_S.jpgAsus has recently launched its latest SAS upgrade kit – the PIKE technology. In conventional situations, 1U (43.3mm) chassis are commonly used in data centers to provide space savings. However, this slim form factor results in sacrificing expandability. With ASUS’ optional PIKE to provide customers with slim-sized and flexible storage options, direct SAS RAID upgrades on original servers can be achieved. This upgrade is realized via a connection through a unique slot to the server; and will not occupy the slot 6 in any 1U chassis – ensuring that no expansion capabilities are given up.

To provide more convenience and flexibility for future upgrades, the PIKE support function will be included in all new Asus servers – especially servers with new architecture design.
