The NEC Japan to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of NEC direct has announced the “LaVie G” notebook with black or silver top only 200 units will be manufactured. The note book PC comes with standard one year warranty. It is powered by an ultra low voltage Pentium M 753 (1.2 Ghz) processor with 768 MB of RAM. and Intel 855GME chipset. It has a 80 GB hard drive, 12.1 inch (1024×768 dot XGA) display and runs on Windows XP Professional SP2. Specs include USB 2.0 x 3, Firewire, Ethernet, IEEE 802.11a/b/g (WiFi), Radio LAN, 56K Modem etc. However the NEC LaVie G does not include a CD drive which brings down the weight to 1066 grams. It has a battery life of 6 hours.

The NEC LaVie G notebook measures 270 × 217 × 26.2 - 37.2mm and will be available from February 28 in Japan for 199,794 Yen ($ 1600)
