Samsung announced today that its 1.35 Volt, 1333 Mbps Green DDR3 DRAM memory and Enterprise SSDs have been chosen for use in HP ProLiant G6 and G7 servers using AMD Opteron 6100 Series and Intel Xeon 5600 processors. HP ProLiant G6 and G7 servers are the latest generation x86 class servers designed for use in virtualized environments where energy efficiency and performance optimization are dual objectives of IT managers.

Samsung’s Green DDR3 which consumes 73 percent less power than DDR2 and features bandwidth up to 1333 Mbps, is available in dual-in-line memory modules from 4GB to 32GBs with the HP G7 and select G6 servers offering densities of 4GB (both registered and unregistered with error correction code (ECC), and 8GB registered DIMMs with ECC. With Samsung Green DDR3 and SSDs, data centers and server farms using the new generations of HP ProLiant servers can free up to 27 percent of physical space for future capacity expansion.
