JVC adds 21-inch HD monitor with mercury-free white LED backlighting

JVC has added the DT-V21G11Z 21-inch HD monitor to its high-end Vérité G Series of professional LCD monitors. The new model is the first in the G Series to be driven by mercury-free white LED backlighting. As a result, it consumes 20-30 percent less power than LCDs using conventional CCFL-driven lighting, but does not sacrifice its highly accurate image quality. With its 1920×1080 non-glare IPS panel, the DT-V21G11Z offers a 178-degree viewing angle with 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and is compatible with ITU-709 standard color space for HDTV broadcasting. It includes a 3G/dual-link HD-SDI input with embedded audio to monitor 1080p/60 signals, plus component and composite inputs to accommodate legacy equipment and a DVI-D input for Blu-ray playback.

Other features include 10-bit processing, built-in vector scope and waveform monitor, 11 marker functions, selectable gamma preset modes, LTC and VITC time code support, 16-channel audio level meter with multiple indicators, low latency circuitry, built-in speakers, and digital closed captioning. The DT-V21G11Z has a suggested list price of $3,595.
