Sharp launches world’s smallest and thinnest one-segment broadcast tuner module

Sharp_tuner_module.jpg Sharp VA3A5JZ922 is the world’s smallest and thinnest one-segment broadcast tuner module. The new tuner module measures 5.9 × 5.9 × 0.9mm and is 35% smaller than the module launched last year.The Sharp one-segment broadcast tuner module with newly developed noise circuit and -109 dBm input sensitivity consumes only 80 mW of power.

Sample shipments of Sharp VA3A5JZ922 one-segment broadcast tuner module will start from February 29, 2008 and mass production from September 30, 2008. Monthly production is stated to be around 1,000,000 units. Sample shipment is available for approximately 20,000 yen ($185).
