Kyocera Donates solar power generating systems to Primary Schools in Tanzania

solar_energy.jpg Kyocera, Japan has decided to donate solar power generating systems to primary schools in the United Republic of Tanzania. The Kyocera donation package contains 600-watt solar power generating systems including storage batteries that Kyocera will install in schools in Tanzania. Each system will come with basic equipment, such as a TV set and lights. Kyocera will donate and install the systems in four schools each year over the coming five years, totaling 20 schools starting from 2008.

Kyocera Chairman today presented a donation certificate to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania and Chairman of the African Union, who is currently in Japan attending the 2008 G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit.
