Omron XF3A Worlds slimmest FPC Connector with a backlock mechanism!

omron_fpc.jpg Omron has announced plans to release an ultra-slim 0.6-mm connector for FPCs (Flexible Printed Circuits) this summer. The Omron XF3A has an ultra-low profile, with a pitch of 0.3 mm, a height of 0.6 mm and a depth of 3.8 mm (when locked), representing a 33% reduction compared to previous OMRON models. When it is released, the XF3A will be the industry’s slimmest commercially available FPC connector with a backlock mechanism. omron_fpc_B.jpg The use of LCP resin in molded parts eliminates the need for halogen, making the XF3A gentle on the environment also.

FPC connectors are used in a wide range of applications, including mobile devices such as phones, MP3 players and notebook PCs. Omron developed the XF3A in response to increased demand for slimmer FPC connectors with backlock mechanisms, which support the development of thinner devices.
