Toshiba LEL-series light bulbs last for approximately 40,000 hours

toshiba_led.jpg The Toshiba LEL-series light bulbs equivalent to 40-watt traditional light bulbs, are intended to replace conventional bulbs in homes. The new Toshiba E-Core branded light bulbs need no separate socket as they can be easily screwed into conventional light sockets. The Toshiba LEL-AW4L gives off a yellowish light that is not as strong as that from the LEL-AW4N, which has a more starkly white light. The new Toshiba LED lights consumes a seventh of the power of a regular bulb and will last for 40,000 hours. In comparison conventional incandescent bulbs last something like 750 to 1,000 hours, and fluorescent lights typically last between 6,000 and 15,000 hours.

The new pair of Toshiba LEL-AW4L and LEL-AW4N LED bulbs are available in Japan for approximately ¥8,980 ($91).
