Valentine Day edition of Sony Reader
It doesn’t come in a heart-shaped box but the special edition of Sony’s Reader eBook device, available now, sports an impressive package. The Valentine’s Day edition of the Reader features a luxurious textured leather cover from Dooney & Bourke, as well as the standard cover and a cloth carry bag. Named one of “The Best of What’s New” products for 2006 by Popular Science magazine, the Sony Reader makes use of a unique electronic paper display that is more like reading on the printed page than on conventional computer screens. Valentine’s Day edition of Sony Reader is packaged in a limited edition red gift box with a foil stamp featuring both the Dooney & Bourke and Sony logos. The special version of the Reader comes complete with a $25 gift card, redeemable at Sony’s CONNECT eBook store for romance novels, new non-fiction, or any of the more than 11,000 titles the online service offers. Quantities of the Valentine’s Day edition of Sony Reader are limited and it will only be available for a short time –Jan. 16 through Feb. 9 – at Sony Style stores and online at www.sonystyle.com.
Roughly the size of a paperback novel, but thinner than most – about .5 inches thin – the Sony Reader can store hundreds of books and other documents using a combination of internal flash memory and optional Memory Stick or Secure Digital flash memory cards. The Sony Reader Valentine’s Day edition lists for about $500 and comes complete with USB cable, a wall charger, the CONNECT Reader software and a protective soft cover.
