Samsung's U.S. Handset Sales Top 150-million!

samsung-hanset.jpg Samsung the world's second-largest maker of mobile phones cumulative handset sales in the United States have surpassed the 150-million-unit mark on July 1. Samsung entered the U.S. market through wireless operator Sprint Corp. in 1997. Samsung ‘s' total U.S. handset sales reached the 10 million mark in 2001 and surpassed 100 million in December 2006.

Samsung is the second-largest player in the U.S. with a 22.1 percent market share in the first quarter, trailing Motorola Inc. that has a 25.6 percent share. Samsung expects to sell some 30 million units this year in the U.S. through major wireless operators such as AT&T and Verizon Communications.
