Hyundai Genesis Coupe to be launched in Korea in October

Hyundai_Genesis Coupe.jpg Hyundai Motor unveiled the exterior of its upcoming Genesis coupe, scheduled to be released in Korea in October. Hyundai Genesis Coupe will make its official debut at the 2008 New York Motor Show on Friday. The coupe is a performance-focused model based on the platform of the Genesis luxury sedan, which was released in January. It boasts rear-wheel drive and a 300-hp 3.8-liter V6 engine outfitted with a 215-hp 20-litre turbocharger.

Korea's largest automaker plans to ship the coupe to overseas markets including the U.S. from early next year. Hyundai Genesis Coupe is based on the same rear-wheel-drive platform as the Genesis sedan. The car's center stack features a large LCD screen, while the gauge cluster has a futuristic, two-pod design. The Genesis Coupe will have a 2+2 setup, with cup holders separating the rear buckets.
