Hyundai Genesis safer than Lexus ES350, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series

hyundai_genesis.jpg Hyundai Motor’s rear-wheel drive luxury sedan Genesis has received five-star ratings in both frontal and side-impact crash tests as well as rollover tests by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Toyota’s Lexus ES350 matched it for frontal and side-impact tests, but only scored four stars in rear-side impact and rollover tests. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class was given four stars in both driver and passenger-side front impacts, while the BMW 5 Series received only three stars in driver-side front impacts and four stars in rollover tests.

Hyundai attributed its achievement to a focus on safety in car design. Hyundai Genesis is engineered with a lightweight but strong shell, featuring ultra-high tensile steel, laser welding and advanced adhesive bonding.
